guys,i recently purchased cs source bundled with DOD and hl2 dm.im not able to start css without going online cos i always have to go through steam.plz help.how do i play css offline.
 
Well first you have to complete the 700MB odd update for CSS, HL2, etc.

Then you'll be able to play online :)

when u start css..steam starts first..after it logs u in...then u can play

Well first of all Steam sux and is very annoying.

If u have completed the update of the game then just play for a few minutes with the internet connection on.Then exit steam and then switch to offline mode.The game should work fine. mind you, don't use a firewall to block the internet traffic.If u want you can use it for starting steam in offline mode but once it IS in offline mode you can unlock internet traffic.

tahts beacuse only two skins are available, ur lucky actually, coz abou a week or so back, there was only one model available :P
 
yea mate rave is right the update came only a week back and i had a hard time identifying the default t model from CT .

during logon (after updates ) if steam doesnt detect an internet connection it does go in offline mode automatically.

i had a hard time trying to update at first then i installed one game at a time to get the updates done else steam would hang on my comp

what u need to do is disable lan connection or modem thru winxp then start steam, steam will report a connectivity error then provide u with an offline mode option select it and play all ur games offline.
 
just disable ur net connecttion and then start steam...after 2 mins it will come with an option to either quit or start in offline mode...:)
 
latency should be low...u can play decently as long as ur latency is <200.
after that u can kiss ur head goodbye cos somebody is gonna take it out and u wudnt even notice it:P
hmm..i was thinkin of takin dataone..is it THAT bad?:P

A couple of Indian clans have rented servers from SGWargames. Here are the IP's

203.81.39.57:27025

The first is for my clan server, the second is for another Indian clan, Ti. Add them to your favorites and then double click them in the favorites tab. Or in the console just type connect <ip address>. You'll find lots of Indians there, infact I met one of my neighbors through playing CSS on SG servers :rofl: :clap:
