CS still more popular than CS:S ...

A few years on though and, as with everything in the world of gaming and technology, things had moved on. Yet CS remains as the undisputed most popular game. Pretenders to the throne appeared but made little inroads; games like Unreal Tournament 2003, Battlefield 1942 and countless other Half-Life mods tried to muscle their way into the limelight and failed. People were happy with Counter-Strike, it ran on even the lowliest PC, was balanced, fun and challenging.

Beautiful looking games are no good to gamers who are looking for the ultimate in the online experience - balanced play is paramount.

Right now, almost two years since the release of CS : S there are 34,228 players playing on 31,836 servers. Compare that to the 165,459 people playing CS right now on 83,484 servers. The gap is huge and shows no sign of getting any smaller.

Most PLAYED on-lines games through XFIRE is CSS but in 2nd position.
 
i ve been playing cs 1.6 since i was 12-13 then i moved to CS condition zero just around 6 months back..but never tried CS source ?so can any one give me more info on the cs:source..how is it different from 1.6 and CZ ?

Better Graphics and better Physics (not related to PhysX card) like -
bomb blast,
better Flash effect,
bullets can pass through woods, doors, box
played runs faster with lighter weapons/knife

... etc kind of stuff.

Mainly Better Graphics as it uses the same game-engine 'SOURCE' that drives HL2 and HL2-EP1.

then its time for me to switch..to..CS :source...hey but how do u all TE ppl ..play with each other online ??XFIRE ?HAMACHI ??i have both but never played..on any of them...

^^thats quite true actually...play CS 1.6 for a while & shift to CSS youll start pwning like a leet guy....but beware magging is too different in Source than in CS 1.6...u try to kill by q.scoping & youll end up getting killed with ~0 damage to opponent...;)
