Hey guys.. I am total noob with CSS was gettin really bored so bought HL2 + CSS pack yday...

Yday tried to connect to TE server and was kicked for high ping... After tht couldnt connect to the server properly..Ping is around 300 i think... Is is too high to play???Or can i live with it ??? and any tweaks to get a better ping ???

I would really love to play with u guys so any suggestions please...

No wonder you have such high pings.... the server is based in Singapore.... that is why you get such high pings.....
 
I'm in Zurich but i saw my frnds from US n india playin q3 so thought this will work.... wont it
And wats ISP :S :S

Edit: So is there no way i can play on TE server :( :(
 
ISP = Internet Service Provider....

I doubt if you can play comfortably on the TE server.....your best bet is to play when you come down to Chennai.

For now, you can play on any European servers....

I have no idea abt Q3 and where those servers are hosted.....
 
Aww tht suxx... Playin with u guys would have been kewl... Anyways will try some european servers today n get raped :ashamed:
 
Hey cant i play with 300 ping cause it might be a bit laggy but i can live with it but is it a prob for the server if i ping 300 ???
 
People with pings of more than 300 are auto-kicked :P ..... I guess that is coz they lag so bad other people find it difficult to shoot them as they are literally teleporting from one spot to another.
 
Oh... i didnt know its tht bad... anyways not much fun playin on european servers couse everyone talk in german... pretty less english servers arnd... Anyways thnx for the info :)
 
Whats the minimum internet speed that would be required to play decently and how do you calculate the no. of pings.. ???

you can play even on a 64 kbps connection....tifosi was on a 64kbps conn for a long time.

But your pings should be good.... And for the pings, there is nothing you can do. It is all in the hands of your ISP
 
when u connect to steam the ping is already listed in the right hand side (when u search for source servers) while in game u have to press TAB to check ur ping or u can type status in "console" to check ur ping or else u can type in game net_graph 3 to check ur ping :P

the max ping i get on some servers is 2000 and the minimum ping i get on servers is ~80 :(
