Hi all,
Just looked at an Acer ad. An Acer 5810T . It lists an Intel Core 2 Solo processor SU3500 . (Solo here should mean a single one, isn't it ?) . Its a single 32-bit/64 bit CPU. I have yet to do some research on this but would also other board members to comment on the same.

good for light browsing and office works, performance is crap compared to core2duo actually, depends on your usage, more battery and cool laptop or hot and battery draining :)

yes exactly it is a single core CPU.it has one of its core disabled. the main thing is TDP is 5.5W compared to normal C2D CPU's 35W..So it will be a lot cooler. 8+ hours of battery life...:hap2:

Downside: Performance will be very average:(

Its an excellent alternative to netbooks and performance will be great compared to crappy Atoms..

In terms of performance in laptops: Clarksfield > C2D > CULV Celerons > Athlon Neo> C2S SU3xxx > Atom

It's the exact opposite if battery life is more important than raw performance.
