Customs duty for a camera worth 45k ??

If i bring a brand new camera purchased in London to India what will be the customs duty??? AFAIK there is no customs duty for a product below 50k right ??? Now if the cost exceeds 50k will i have to pay 29 % customs on total value of product or just for the amount exceeding 50k?? What to do if there is overvaluation of camera by customs??? Will bills and receipts suffice or do you have to show the actual credit card statement ??

And finally do i need a separate adapter or plug for charging batteries ???

then you'll need to pay customs according to the price-data they have. i don't know how much will be the charges but it'll be based on the indian market price of the product.

you can try arguing with them against the bills you have.

yes, but yours must be more than 50K in indian market :p

just the plug adapter, if you don't have universal sockets at home. UK voltage is same as India's but these days, almost all the battery chargers are of universal voltage type.
