New Steam database changelog for Cyberpunk 2077 hints at imminent macOS release
Through a Steam database update for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red may have just hinted at the imminent macOS version release. As surfaced on SteamDB, the new changelog has entries for macOS depots, launch options, and base game support.
It seems that the macOS release is going as planned, as CD Projekt Red has just updated the game's Steam database, adding macOS executable and multiple depots. The depots added seem to be enough to bring support base game and localization options to Macs.
With
this change in the Steam database, the launch options have a third entry, specifically for macOS. All these suggest that
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to Macs with Apple silicon very soon. Of course, it's still not clear how well the game will run on Apple's systems.
The initial launch of the game wasn't as smooth as expected. As a matter of fact, there were so many issues that made pretty much all gamers say that it was a rushed release. However, with constant updates, the developers have made
Cyberpunk 2077 come to a point where gamers often regard it as a must-play title for fans of
RPGs.
Hopefully, the macOS release won't be as unstable as the game's initial launch. However, it's unclear whether
Cyberpunk 2077 on Apple devices will get as good of a mod support as it has on Windows.
