D-link DIR 605l directly connect router with laptop by LAN cable

I have a Dlink 605l router. My broadband cable is connected to the WAN port and I get wireless internet on my laptop.Now i have a LAN cable(came with the router) and I want to directly connect another laptop to the router through LAN cable and get internet(to get lower ping).Is it possible??
when I do the above it is showing unidentified network limited....Please help
I can directly connect the ethernet cable to my laptop but then i would not get wireless internet on my other laptop..
