@thatashok, already tried these tutorial, still no luck.

should i try with motive(bsnl setup for know modem, where this one is not included) will flash the dlinks firmware..

did you try this guide also. This seems to be clear.

flash d-link firmware ? so what firmware was that running

Actually this should do

1. connect modem through LAN port

2. power on modem

3. open browser ; type http://192.168.1.1/ and enter admin for user name and admin for password

4. modem's web configuration interface will come up . click on WAN

5. change vci value to 35 (pvc->0 and vpi -> 0)

6. select wansetting as pppoe/pppoa

7. enter your dataone user name and its password for PPPoE/PPPoA

8. finally go to Tools->System. click on “Save and Reboot†.

^mate i tried, still it doesnt work..

can you please explain whats bridge mode is.

In bridge mode the modem works as transparent Ethernet bridge and therefore you need to run the PPPoE client software ( for login authentication) on your PC.

you might be familiar with the dialer. Itlooks like this

In PPPOE mode the modem dials itself and gives you a internal/private ip. No dialing on PC required

The both setups are given here
