Storage Solutions Data read fail (CRC) error on my HDD !!

Off late I've been getting CRC error on some of the small files on my hard disk....
Some are files which were working fine some days ago but sudeenly started giving the error.....
Is my HDD nearing its death???
 
Try another Data cable and make sure it is connected firmly - I had this problem a while back on a HDD when the SATA Data cable had become a bit loose.
 
Don't know what the problem was...I just used the scandisk utility with the automaticaly fix errors checked and now everything is working fine...Thanks anyways.....My cable is new...I just bought a new one cos i was having a lot of problems with the old one....
