Data recovery in Symbian

OK, something stupid happened yesterday, all of a sudden my phone switches off and when i turn it back on, i get a message that the phone data is corrupt and needs a reformat and formats the damn thing, deleting all my contacts, messages and voice notes..

is there any way i can recover those or am i screwed??

phone is a P800.

i think the data is gone if its on thephone meory...but I never heard of that error in other symbian phones.

but if it is a MMC/SD/CF card, then try this

unfortunately, it was on the phone memory, all the data on the memory card is still intact...

darn, 200 contacts and as many msgs all gone, shud have backed up the data...
