data usage tracking by airtel fair?

Hi friends,

I have read some users of Airtel broadband complaining the usage of data by airtel is unfair and surprising. I have not yet got the connection. I have planned to download heavily upto 80 Gb.. and I don't want to pay for cheaters(if they are).

Suppose if I disconnect my airtel BB, will my modem taken back? After how many months I can disconnect my BB? Is there any deposit for getting the connection?
I may disconnect BB and shift for 3G after 2 months.I have planned for BB only for downloads. Railwire comes to my area only after 2 months

I mean internet data.. I have read people saying they never felt their GB quota got over very soon

Most people do say their data limit gets over too fast while using Airtel.

Thats true; one friend experienced this many times and finally got the broadband disconnected.

track your usage on airtel smartbytes and some software on your pc like networx .
I have done it and found its fairly similar. airtel does always show higher though but its around 100 - 200 mb more than software.

They count both upstream and downstream whereas someone like Beam counts only downstream so yes you will run out quickly.
