PC Peripherals Dead hdd need help!

FOLLOW THE STEPS: IT SHOULD WORK
-------------------------------
1) Remove the HDD, put it in a plastic bag or plastic cover and close it completely with some plaster or some stuff so no water gets in.
2) Make sure its water tight
3) Now put it in "refrigirator DEEP FREEG"
4) keep it for atleast 2 or 3 hours, but I recommend atleast 4Hours.
5) Remove the HDD and remove the cover and connect the HDD immediately to the computer
6) Boot the system from Ur another HDD(not the dead HDD). Use the Dead HDD as "slave".
7) Now after system booting copy the stuff immediately with in 15 minutes
8) quickly drag and drop the files to Ur default(running HDD) from the dead HDD.
9) may be after 10 to 15 minutes the system may becomes "hangs up" becoz the dead HDD gets heats up after 10 minutes so U can't operate Ur system even Ur default HDD(working) is running.
10) Turn off the system and remove the dead HDD.

Thats it "its very simple to copy the files from a dead HDD". But if U didn't copied all the stuff then repeat the same process again again. I think the repeat process may works upto 5 times or so.

Good luck.

you can submit to 3rd party data recovery agents, there are many agents in India eg: Stellar services, check their email id/call numbers on internet !!

If u r in delhi I know I shop in NP which does the job....

I got my 80Gb HDD repaired at very nominl charges..

The Hdd was not spinning (means dead)...

One suggestion I wld like to give:never leave ur HDD with untrusted repair shop...they repair the HDD,copy back data into their systems and then Sell the Data back to u..!!
