PC Peripherals Dead pixels - Dell In2030m

Dear friends ,

I am getting 6 dead pixels in my Dell Led monitor in the lower part of the screen .

Some colors they are hardly visible and some colors very clearly - for eg : yellow I can see maximum dead pixels .

What should I do ? . It is in warranty .

Anyone been through the same problem? What was Dell's response ?

Am quite disappointed because I have read and experienced that Monitors hardly fail

and not this early , only been 5 months now .

Its not hard to live with it at the moment but i fear this will only increase with time .

Please tell me what should be done , would contacting dell be a waste of time ? .

Call Dell toll free number, choose monitor and peripherals queue , share your Dell S/N, 6 dead pixels entitles you for a replacement,

Will they replace it with a new product or some refurbished product? .

Recertified monitor, no one replaces with brand new these days, if they did they would charge you double cost of the monitor as warranty , wouldnt they ?

A friend of mine got his BenQ 20 incher replaced by a Brand New piece . Might be an exception though .

Disappointed to say the least .

Did they provide you a bill that its a brand new ?? who knows if they just changed the bezel and handed it over to you ?

i have 3 monitors 2 Dell U2410s and 1 BenQ G2420HD , BenQ and Dell both went for replacement, got a refurb with Benq with clear slight marks of usage, the replacement Dell monitor didnt have a single scratch .. hope that helps you

Yes when i bought the monitor I got a Printed Bill , was getting for lower somewhere else but he was giving a kaccha bill which I felt would give problems with warranty .

Nah nah, im not talking of your dell monitor !! Dell monitors go by the serial number, invoice or no invoice barely matters

Sorry for asking this stupid question - can you tell me where is the serial number written

? . But then how can one know which monitor with a particular serial number was sold when ? .

I dont know much about the invoice Sir , He was dancing and boasting about BenQ service and easy replacement procedure, The pack was sealed and there wasnt a single scratch or any mark of usage . Not sure if its BenQ servicemen's skill or something else . They BenQ guys had told him it was new so he was quite happy about it .
