well then im one of those idiots who bought it for 12k locally a week ago :ashamed:

or maybe tax is too high here in mumbai...

no what i mean to say is.. what if buyer does not confirm item received and rather complains that he never received any..?

does ebay care to investigate courier receipt and any fraud related to that?

im just curious to know whether the system is foolproof for the seller too.

There is no protection for the seller. Once buyer marks item not received/ claims item not as expected, eBay will easily refund money to the buyer after 5 days of investigation drama. Also these days eBay gone nuts with 20 days mandatory warranty on everything, including briefs:rofl:

Sorry couldn't be active here for sometime... dunno if i'll be able to check this regularly, but i'll try to. The $hitty IT team in my office blocked access to TE as of yesterday. Some new websense shizz they using. Others like engadget, gamasutra, techtree etc also blocked... & i don't have pc at home. Using proxy sites to post here. :-\

Anyways.. i msged ironman, but again he didn't reply. I hope he returns money by sunday/monday.
I think members can switch to sending cheques rather than Direct Cash deposit. Ofc its not a faster way but surely its safe comparatively. You can always stop payment if the product/seller is bogus. Just a thought in mind and i know there are many complications and flaws involved in this.. but they exist in all other ways, right?... if its a crappy idea, never mind. thanks for reading tho. :D

I think TE should start same process like Ebay... If buyer gets his product then seller can get his money...We can try this for a week or so to see if it really works for TE....

You can't stop a payment that has already been encashed unless you were thinking of postdating the check. In which case its unlikely the seller would send you anything until the check has cleared.

I've yet to hear of an alternative to ebay so far.

Right, leave the sellers at the mercy of the buyers. Sellers aren't selling for profit here, they're not holding some business, its their own personal belongings they're selling.

You should think of it both ways, if a seller can be fraudulent so can the buyer.

Just an update, i haven't received any money from this guy yet. He is not taking/replying to my calls. Not even replying to sms.

Last he told me was "kniwor will xfer 2750 to me and rest he will give me" (this was 2 days back).. .but @ssh0le hasn't given anything.

kniwor, please give me a call want to talk.

Enough is enough. There is a limit to everything. Kudos to you guys for showing so much patience with this fraud. Take action. Do something. Enough said.

He said some relative of his died in the mangalore plane accident and asked me to be patient. (sorry for absence of a suitable euphemism). However, i don't see what is the point in not returning my my money and taking his mobile back. I'm traveling and hence cant really pay attention to dealing with him. But lethal, have you had any response?

Dead relatives @ mangalore?? really?

What he told me was he lost his job!!... and he had promised to give back money to me on Saturday but again nothing so far. He also told me that kniwor has agreed to take the samsung phone from him @ 9.5k and kniwor will give me 2750 rest he will pay. He has been giving us lies so far... so i don't know if that is true.

BTW, guys... i am writing here after returning from the nearest police station here in hyd. Have submitted a written complaint.. and TE mods, i hope you will give all necessary info if required.
The inspector at the PS tried reaching his phone but it is switched off... so i will be giving him ironman's address & bank account details today at 8PM.

Now I am pissed and I don't have any hopes of getting my money back... so i will just try my best to **** his happiness.

^^

Good work mate. Please post the entire process here. if someone else also needs it be a good thing.

maybe the lawyers in TE can pitch in to help the guy out, if possible.

Here's my part of the story.

Since I did not want the phone and only the cash, I had requested khimera to keep the phone in his possession. I asked khimera not to post the information here because ironman will then keep troubling him for the phone constantly. I told ironman he can have the phone once he returns cash. I had suggested him 9500/- including shipping or 9250/- excluding for the phone (as it is obvious that he has no money to return). But the guy has not been replying of late and hence I asked Khimera to ship me the mobile finally. I have not yet received it though.

I will give you all the details that his phone number is registered on through my friend in vodafone. I have his address that he gave me, and the acc details that are public. His number is off.
