redcross and ironman and maybe other ids aswell had the same IPs. It would be a step to make the transaction safe. It is not a "feel completely safe" solution.
 
If you guys are still looking for that lawyer in bangalore, do let me know.. ill provide the info.. not to mention Khimera.. i live close to the place you had made those deals with redcross (No this does not mean that i'm THAT friend he knows there..lol) .. :O and greenhorn.. awesome work!.. simply brilliant infact..
 
Yeah, TE is blocked in his office by stupid websence so he was unable to post here. As far as I know he has got the money, someone from Police Station called the dude and Lethal got the money next day :P
 
^^^ Thats ossum. But I hope Lethal doesnt let him go off the hook so easy. The guy should he served so as to make sure that he doesnt con someone ever again.
 
Well, he is off the hook. Lethal got his money back, So i dont think anyone can do anything about him anymore. Anyways, when i thought of helping Kniwor, I thought no matter, what this issue must be solved because i hate ppl exploiting others by the way of trust, and looks like we have done it as a community. Greenhorn's database digging was a masterpiece and the missing link of the puzzle.
 
naa not needed. If Lethal has indeed got his money back then the matter is settled. We dont need to punish him for what Ironman-Redcross might do to others. For now it looks like the mater is settled.
 
But I would still say this particular guy should be banned somehow may be IP ban as he has hit TE more than twice :@
 
IP banning really doesnt help anything. This guy was just careless enough to leave clues all over the place. If someone wanted to be smart and covered his traces, would be pretty hard to find. there really is no solution other than being cautious ( to the point of being paranoid if required) and doing your homework properly before a deal
 
As i said earlier, there needs to be a 'Hall of Shame' where all these perps are listed out and how their exploits were foiled.

Maybe the admins at TE do not like this kinda like companies do not like to admit they got hacked, your call guys :)
 
Thanks to everyone for their help in this matter... greenhorn man, u were great! Without those details it would have been difficult.

I've got the money back from this a-hole. I had reported the matter to the police, the case was there, everything was in place... but since now he has returned the money there's nothing police can do about it, so its over. Regarding the other frauds this guy has done, police won't act upon it as I am personally not involved in those and dont have any proofs. If TE wants, they can do it... but as an indvidual i cannot OR only the people that suffered will have to approach police for it.

Mods... if you're reading this, please ATLEAST add this guy into the fraudster's list in member's section? Also, i think you should do an IP ban. Even if it is a cyber cafe how does it matter? this cyber cafe is probably his own cafe (net tarang) where this person is doing fraud from. Moreover, even if some good chap is unable to access TE after IP ban, i believe its still okay. that person (i assume it would be only 1 or 2 guys) would access TE from some other cafe then. Request you to please look into this.

And once again, thanks to everyone who helped in this matter... its really good to see TE community working together to bring down such lousy fraudsters.
 
Yeah we need his ID(s) blacklisted and the bank details posted in the same thread like the previous ones.

Greenie sir, perhaps you should think twice about that MBA course you are going to pursue. There are better ventures waiting for you. :thumb:

I am still not sure about the IP ban thing. With most users running on dynamic IPs, there is every possibility that someone else might get assigned the same IP over a period of time
 
lethal, can you send a copy of the FIR/ other police paperwork to the mod team/admins so that we can use use them if he pulls a similar trick here or elsewhere ?
