i have an idea for development of a vehicle tracking system for the defence forces....
multiple GPS receivers >>> data >>radioset>>remote server>> mapping application
i have done a little bit of ground work
1. GPS Receivers are available off the shelf with data logging, these use GSM/CDMA network and SMS to send the data accross. PROBLEM -- at time of war GSM/CDMA would not be available everywhere so the plan is to use military grade Radiosets for data transfer.
2. Rest is managable.
areas where i need a little help from the geeks
How to interface the GPS reciever/datalogger with a radioset (without a computer)
the gps logger and the radioset both are envisioned to have a RS-232 for communication
i need to make something like this on a budget ...Worldtracker RF GPS Tracking unit | GPS Tracking | GPS Vehicle Tracking | Worldtracker GPRS | GPS Dealers wanted
any help would be appreciated
