Storage Solutions Delay in Shutdown Due to Seagate Free Agent Desk

Guys I am facing this error from like 4-5 Months. Thought it was nothing but now it is irritating me.

I have a Seagate Free Agent Desk 1TB. It is always connected to my PC.

How i found the problem is with my HDD:

First i thought that it might be of some virus or something like that but when i shut down my system whilst the hdd is connected and remove the usb cable during shutting down is showing up,the system shuts down in less than 5 seconds.

Actually it does not give any problem while the system is on etc. But while shutting down my PC it takes up almost 1.5-2mins to shut-down when this external is connected. When it is not it hardly takes 10-20 Seconds. :S

Why do you have it connected the whole time? Just connect it when you want to use it. Remove it while shutting down, simple.

And if you need it connected the whole time, you need an internal hard disk. :P
 
Actually i sold my internal 1TB HDD. So all my Movies/Tv Serials etc are in that...Now why would i want to remove it and then reconnect it again and again? Anyways is there no other option?
 
Try removing the seagate manager from startup, or terminating it using task manager before you shutdown the system, and see if there is any change in shut down time.
