Config - Intel C2D 2.4Ghz , 2GB Zion RAM, 320 GIG Seagate HDD, Nvidia 8600GT Sparkle (;x), Been running windows xp professional for ages now!

.. for the past few months i have this annoying problem with my computer! after booting and when i start working on something, it gives me an error saying - delayed write failed! it opens up a ballon on the task bar and when i try closing it and resuming whatever it is that i was doing, the computer stops responding! the mouse cursor shows the busy status and im forced to reboot! and once i do that disk checking opens up checking C:\ (OS) every single time!

.. some other times, the computer just becomes choppy and frames, every task is strained and im forced to reboot again!

.. is this because of some errors in the registry? or is it a HDD problem?

.. can someone please shed some light on this issue and if possible give me a solution?

.. PS : i cant format my HDD coz i have lots of important data on it!

..

Delayed Write Failed is mostly mis-understood as HDD's problem, while that's not the case.

Try changing the SATA cables on your drives (better if you use new ones), clean up SATA connectors on both mobo and HDD with soft brush.

DWF, is most of the time caused by faulty cable, error in data transfer due to poor connection. Try above solution and report back.
