Delete a non existent file

Hi.

I have a weird problem today. Something happened to my rainmeter y'day and I was unable to save themes. It somehow had created a rainmeter.ini file (in appdata/rainmeter) which looked like a folder. However, when I tried opening it, it told me that it was not a valid folder.

Since I was planning on reinstalling rainmeter, I copied it on to the desktop. Once I set it up again, I tried deleting the file. But its unable to delete it. I get a msg saying that the file does not exist! but its right there!

I Booted ubuntu and tried to delete the file. But its the same situation. When I delete it, it moves to the trash. But when I try to remove it from the trash, nothing happens.

What do I do? How do I get rid of a file that doesn't exist!
