Deleting only attachments in Outlook Express.

I don't think it is possible. You could save the attachment on your hard disk and then delete the email it came alongwith. Why do you wish to retain the email?

Have you tried these steps..???

To delete attachments from messages in Outlook:

Double-click on the desired message to open it in its own window.
Click on the attachment you want to remove with the right mouse button.
Select Remove from the menu.
Close the message window.
Click OK in the Do you want to save changes? dialog.

I know I can save the attachments.

Sometimes, for example, you get a e-mail with many photographs as attachments. Often I wouldn't like to save the photos ( mostly large, from digi cameras ), but would like to retain the e-mail.

I'm using Outlook *Express*. The options "Add" and "Remove" in the menu are grayed out for messages in the Inbox.

Ok, i would give a work around, just right click/forward, then in the attachements field : delete all, now you would have message without any attachements, just save it either in drafts or any folder you want.

PS : You dont have to forward to any one, it is just to bring the forward dialog box, just give a phoney mail in the address field :)

or you could just Reply and send it to yourself. The attachments will not be sent.
