Delhivery - hit or miss - only me?

Had pretty bad experience with Delhivery, three times.
Yes, you may ask why I prefer if it get repeated. Usually the person at the other end prefer it. I mean, the person sending the items.
Not anymore. Won't use it in the future.
Anyway, just checking whether it is me, or happens for others here in the forum. Talking about Delhivery direct in specific.
First time, the packet got delayed. A domestic parcel (Delhi to Cochin) got delayed, like 1 month!
No additional info, no callback, not checking with me or the sender etc. from their side. The complaint mostly reach the call centre and that is all. They never takes it up to higher level and we don't have any other option.
Second time, the packet got delayed. After placing tickets multiple times, received it after 2 weeks.
Third time (present scenario) - Packet got delayed for two weeks, they promised to deliver it today, still waiting on it.
Here is the pattern.
I see they deliver on time for most of the packages when we order from some online site. Might be they care for such bulk order sites.
The pickup also works without much delay - I guess the franchise get more commission for pickup than delivery.
Talking about my place which is near Cochin, Kerala. Any members feel the same or faced similar situation?
Never had a problem in the past for DTDC. Perfect tracking and delivery. Bluedart also does the job pretty neat.
 
I've had decent experience with them till now. I'm from Kolkata and use Shiprocket to book their service. I had booked via their own app once but the charges were much higher. Did not face any problems with delivery though.

My guess would be that a courier's quality of service varies a lot by location and most of the problems happen during the last mile.

For instance, I have had poor experiences in the past with Bluedart, but they have quite a good reputation in general.

Also, their service channel might be somewhat different for end users vs businesses (who typically use some aggregator service), which may also explain the difference in qos.

Yeah same with me, sometimes it feels they are the best in the market but other times even after 2 days no response from them. Guess it also depends on the pickup person assigned
 
I guess it is more of a regional staff issue than Delhivery issue. For me, Delhivery has been among the best along with Bluedart, never any complaints and always received parcel before expected dates.
While DTDC has been a nightmare for me, the local guy who handles DTDC is incompetence personified. So, I did the next best thing possible and ask anyone shipping to me to please avoid DTDC altogether.
 
I've had a weird experience with Delhivery the last time when I shipped with then. The pickup guy came and unpacked my well packed box. He tore everything down and then took the picture of the contents. I had to repack it again in front of him as he was unable to pack it properly.

Other than this one experience, Delhivery seems fine to me. Their pick-ups are usually 1-2 days late.

DTDC had been extremely bad for me. Refusing delivery to my location and sending back the parcel to the shipper; delivering my parcel in totally different apartment complex; you name it.

BlueDart has been the best for me till now.
 
Mostly been fine for me. Except that 1 time when I shipped food items and the package was destroyed by rats mid way. Never again shipping food items. Honestly it depends a lot on the region.
 
Looks like, the local Delhivery office/agency might be causing the delay. As @Silent47Assassin suggested, might be they use different channel for business deliveries too.

Anyway, I think they read TE threads! The guy just came and handed over the package. Finally!
 
Bluedart > Delhivery > Amazon > Ekart > Ecom > Xpressbees > DTDC > shadowfax. never had issue with anyone in my area. it depends on the local courier and not the actual company. i would still rate bluedart no 1 for best and fast. Delhivery is very good value for money following with amazon shipping. These all couriers i have used and got packages as i use shiprocket. they are all in under 1-5km radius.
 
My experience is also ALWAYS bad with delhivery, whether it's pickup or delivery.

On pickup they call and ask me to drop the package at their center.

On delivery they call and ask me to pickup the package myself.
 
You just need to assess them yourself. Delhivery is shit for you, might not be shit for someone else in another part of the country or even city.

For me it comes down to what I need.
If it's an order from a website, don't really care what they use, if it doesn't get delivered I have atleast another place to go complain other than the courier office.
If it's really important documents, bluedart always. The most expensive imo but the only service I can actually trust will get the item delivered in one or 2 days as per what I paid.
If it's not that important or it's bulky, shree tirupati couriers. They're close to my home so they quite literally walk to my house to deliver my items plus their rates are cheap. They're also used often by independent sellers I buy from and are quite reliable except for their old broken website.
 
DelayedVERY is unreliable esp. their tracking updates suck big time and more to that they have non-existent customer service--the co. is ran by dead people, ghosts and spirits!

Her is my ranking across courier partners wrt tracking updates and delivery-
Bluedart> Amazon> Dtdc> Tirupati> Ekart> Ecom> Xpressbees> shadowfax> DelayedVERY

WOW! Forgot to mention something like this in the OP. Trichur to Cochin (both in Kerala, may be 75km away) Delhivery shipping went on a Tamilnadu-Karnataka trip and came back to Kerala. But nothing like the Siliguri route!
