Delhivery - hit or miss - only me?

Delhivery is a hit or miss. I have no qualms shipping via Delhivery from my location. But they tend to get screwed up when packages are to be shipped to me. I don't want to nitpick but you get the idea. Speedpost is the best! If you don't mind the wait time.

People in the last mile are more often than not responsible for this.
Bluedart or DTDC air is the way to go if you want speed. I always had good experiences with them.

For our region we have only standard surface. And as such paying extra for "faster" service don't help.

Looks like, the local Delhivery office/agency might be causing the delay. As @Silent47Assassin suggested, might be they use different channel for business deliveries too.

Anyway, I think they read TE threads! The guy just came and handed over the package. Finally!
Looks like I might have to make a post too lol. Currently having shitty experience with them in Kolkata.

DTDC/Bluedart are the best. DTDC have improved significantly over the years. They usually deliver within 2-3 days and provide POD as well in case of disputes. Bluedart is obviously the best but is expensive.

I only use Bluedart when I have to courier sensitive documents.
Otherwise DTDC is relatively cheaper at least in my area and it is way better now compared to how they used to give service in the last 6-8 years.
Delhivery takes a lot of time to deliver, idk why but it has been both hit and miss for me so I don't take chances with them anymore.

Finally had a bad experience with delhivery in 3yrs of usage. Got an item shipped from Shillong but it has been sitting at guwahati hub from 8 days. No updates, no response nothing.

Delhivery also doesn't have any customer support so you can't even get an updated delivery timeline. Their support bot simply stated ill be getting it soon and it is delayed due to natural contingency.

Weather condition in Aizawl, Guwahati was bad around 20-21st May. My parcel also got delay but finally delivered yesterday.

In my personal experience Delhivery works horrendous for South India.
Once I sent a parcel to Chennai and it went AWOL for a month. They kept delaying the last locations timestamp again and again. Very shady. At last it was RTO.
My package was delayed by 15 days in Hyderabad.

It works great in North India, especially in Delhi and Lucknow. Never had any issues with them. They have even delivered before the expected date here.

This is the last time I'll have an experience with delhivery. Never have I seen a delivery service so callous and unprofessional. Package was supposed to be received on 25th. Everytime it goes out for delivery but then gets automatically marked failed due to some made up error. Even the delivery person seems clueless / drunk.

Here's a whole graveyard of similar complaints lol: https://www.facebook.com/groups/510928032958874

This is unfortunately happening with other delivery companies as well.

Using it for my personal shipping needs since Covid and they have been ok, certainly not the best like Bludart but I'm satisfied with their service.

Pros - 1.The best part I like about them is the pickup option with no shipping label needed. They have their own plastic packaging with label on it, and the updates are real-time.

2. Their shipping network is vast.
3. Easy to book through their app
4. Very lax about weight and size adherence (unless you book them through Shiprocket)

Cons 1. Delhivery Direct has lately become very costly, charging pretty much twice the amount than it did before.

2. Customer service is almost non-existent, don't think there is still a dedicated phone number for them where you can speak to an agent. Emails will only get you standard copy-paste templates. In case of a misplaced package, I had bombarded all of their email addresses (Investor relations, Governance etc.) that I could find online and finally they got in touch with me and managed to find my item.

I have heard mostly bad things about them. I'd certainly avoid sending expensive items through them and would use Bludart/DTDC instead. For small and relatively inexpensive items, good layered packaging helps a lot and writing AWB# on the box/envelope may prevent the chances of package getting lost.

If you are a business owner, I'd avoid them. Customers hate them unfortunately, the savings may not be worth it in the long run.

Hi, a bit OT but what would be the best courier to ship a highvalue item (Camera) the fastest from Delhi to Chennai?
I am leaning towards BlueDart Dart Apex.

A bit of background: a friend had lost his bag at IGI, and while we’ve thankfully now found it, it has to be sent to Chennai as soon as possible ensuring that it gets delivered with minimal scuffs. As someone who’ll be packing for a courier for the first time, anything important to know on how to pack a mirrorless camera and a lens would be incredibly helpful :’)

Edit: Would it help if I declared the name of the article and its exact value in the courier if I opted for insured shipping? Or would I be better off just claiming it as a low value item like a photoframe, etc?
