Hi
My PC rebuilding task is in full flow.. so i am posting comments like crazy :cat:.

Can you guys help me in deciding between Dell S2240L vs. Dell UltraSharp U2312HM /Dell UltraSharp U2412M ?
I am OK with 21.5 size, but its connectivity options seems to be low. Will to go well with most graphic cards? Currently my plan is to go for ZOTAC NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 Ti Boost 2 GB GDDR5 .
Need your opinion please :nailbiting:.
Another question is how much does larger monitors harm our eyes? I am going to use this as a table top monitor and not hang on a wall...:dummy:

2312 has a matte screen and works well in all light conditions. Has a bit of what we know as 'IPS shimmer'.

2240 is edge to edge glass design, sounds fantastic but you can see your face like a mirror in it. Stay away.

Size vs dot pitch - 1 inch is within margin of error, it's not noticeably larger. Larger monitors do not harm eyes, fuzzy and grainy pictures with very bright factory settings combine to give you headaches. If you choose the dot pitch and set the monitor up properly, you will have no problem. If you try to use a 32" monitor from two feet away you will go blind. If you try to use a 23" monitor from 8 feet away, you will also go blind.

Thanks for the immediate response cranky, finally we all go to doctor for thick glasses.. got it..
Sanpdeal has this zero percent emi (3M/ 6m on selected cards) going on ..:hungry:..so should it be 2412 at Rs 17k or 2312 at 14.1K.. hmmm... big dilemma..:shifty:

----ADDED----
DONE.. 2412 for Rs 17014 @ 2836 for 6 months..

What will you primarily use your monitor for. Before buying monitors please read about the three types of panels - TN, VA & IPS. Each has its own quality.
TN are mostly preferred by gamers because of better response times & input lag.
VA looks the most awesome with vivid colors and deepest blacks. However the lag will be there.
IPS also suffers from lag but not as much as VA panels. However vividness is not that good as well. Most of the cheaper IPS panels are e-ips. IPS is generally used for photography and editing because of accurate color reproduction. However the matte screen will look a bit grainy.
Recommended for TN : there are many to chose from.
VA : Benq GW series are good. I have a GW 2750
IPS : if you are looking at Dell 2312, you might as well look at Asus PA238Q. Factory calibration is better in Asus

Hi manish.sanil
I am sorry, but you are just a few minutes late.. :) . I placed the order for the 2412.
but thanks for your advice. I think 2412 should fit the bill since i am also a bit into photography and stuff :artist: . 8ms response time is OK for gaming also, I presume.:woot:
