After a long wait i got my hands on my S2300MX yesterday and its disappointing not a very good upgrade from my ASUS lcd. It suffers from blue back light bleed and horrible view angles this is some how related to the new found thinness because my friends ST2220L does not suffer from any of this.

I had a chat with the dealer he says he can only sell Dell to me since i opened the package and cant go in for a Samsung P2350. So after a lot of thinking i have come to the conclusion that the IPS displays might be the way to go, but there is a risk of lag in games which i do plan to do....

So people with either a U2211H or a U2312HM do let me know if its a good idea to buy for games/movies/etc.

I own Dell U2311H-14.5k and it's really awesome,The E-IPS panel is really worth having for watching movies and gaming,There are no lags and backlight bleeding as far as my concern but if you see any then you can immediately RMA the monitor. The Contrast,Black Depth,Color Accuracy is pretty awesome and by far better than TN panels. The U2312HM is the successor of Dell U2311H and it's not as good as it's predecessor,Though you can go for it it's good enough. If your budget is below 10k then go for Dell ST2220L-8.5k

Price is a no issue i am upgrading after all so i would like to upgrade, i was under the impression that S2330MX was one but i was wrong. The ST2220L is too old and i imagine either the U2211H or a U2312HM would do nicely as an upgrade.

The dealer himself is confused if the 21.5" ips is a U2211H or a U2212HM.

On a separate note do you game with the overdrive OFF or ON? What games do you play?

Sanjiv there is no U2211H OR U2212M.

The most basic of DELL's Ultrasharp range is the the U2312M [since the phase out of the U2311H]. Both perform roughly the same and should serve your purpose just fine.

On a secondary note, I have noticed a lot of Dell monitors belonging to my colleagues and college-friends used to have a bias towards the blue-spectrum [not back-light bleeding]. This was noticed on the following models by me -
IN 2030M
ST2220L

About the latter issue of poor viewing angles, it is something that all TN-panel based monitors face. This is the number one reason mobile devices like the iPad have a IPS-panel based display.

Go for it if price is no objection. Hope this helps, Cheerio!!

U2312H is the one to go for. as I said in another thread only rajinikanth can notice the lag of 2~3ms :P

I'm a hardcore fps gamer and have the U2211H. will never go back to a TN panel even if I get it for free :D
no need of any overdrive tinkering.

My friends has U2311H and I myself have U2312HM, both are same performance and feature wise, I can easily recommend the U2312HM, it has no lags whatsoever

Model confirmation and its U2212HM not the U2211H so the choice is between U2212HM or U2312HM.

I am leaning towards the U2212HM instead of the U2312HM after reading Dell U2212HM Review and thinking hard if a 23incher would really be suitable for my tiny desk not to mention the DPI boost i will get.

Pricing for the U2312HM is around 17K and for the U2212HM its unclear, the dealer said its price will be around 13-14K but needs confirmation from dell. Also according to him prices are being increased for all the Dell products and i should order fast to avoid the Rs.400-600 hike.

^^^ U2212H is also good choice but it's not yet launched in India. confirm with your dealer.

Edit: now after reading the TFTcentral review the input lag seems to be high than U2312H and U2412H. mostly will not matter but a point to consider.

Edit: U2212H I meant

Humm Dell told me to visit their rep in Chandigarh and get the display there odd i was hoping they would send it via my local dealer.

Seems there is confusion on U2211H and U2212HM the Dell guy said it might be a model change from U2211H to U2212HM but today i cant get thru to his landline i get a voice message "The customer you are calling does not wish to receive calls temporally" wtf ?

Funny it shows up on the DELL India page for Ultrasharp monitors --> Shop By Design.

If the input lag is worse than the 8ms on the U2312M it might entail performance penalties [especially in fast action sequences and first person shooters]. This is strictly my opinion.
