u are a lucky guy. Infact very lucky:clap:

Delta has got a really good contact with the Logitech and Rashi. So usually you can get the replacement really fast.

Amazing, I always have high regard for those Delta folks, they recognize me instantly, we always have a nice pep talk before i buy :bleh: and gives me good prices

But their outhouse shop (one which sells CM, Altec and GFX cards) sucks :@
that guy doesn't bother to even negotiate a bit, not even tries to call distri and check the price. very careless, he is like, u buy it or not - i dont care

the thing is they could have made me buy the MX they went out of their way to help a customer like me who comes from far far away:hap2: i cannot believe this happened in ritchie street(chor bajar of chennai:bleh:).I still remember my horrid exp. with those cheats PCPS systems in the same locality:@.

@saiyan i did not know that delta commands such respect :ashamed:.

@spectre i know him the guy owns a cbz xtreme the silver color one thats
standing in the front. He @ max will reduce Rs 100-150 if you bargain hard if you still insist he will direct you to kamal/naveen.

@saqib_khan so if the Serial no. is gone then no warranty:huh:.

Anyway i do not think one will get a replacement that easily from rashi even with the serial no./billetc. This is the first time i have gone to rasi for claiming warranty (with no bill:rofl:).

If you are going to rashi their are only two people who can help you:

1) god.

2)Delta peripherals:clap:

Most high profile dealers and shops have pull with distries and manufacturers. They push the shops for sales target so when they call personally or insist, the distributors do the needful ;)

Thats why its better to have and stick to a good dealer than to buy from cheapest place at times.

I know Rashi-bashing is a popular sport in India (second only to cricket  ).. but Rashi service in Chennai has improved a *lot* ;)

They offer instant over-the-counter replacements now if i'm not mistaken (saw people walking in with dead motherboards and walking out with replacements), and for me thats a huge time saver. When I went ~2 months back, I had a really easy time and was in and out with a new piece in less than 10 mins. For the record, had gone in with a dead 7300GS and got a new 8400GS as a replacement. I actually paused before leaving when things wrapped up so quickly, and asked them two times with disbelief if that was it

I think blaming them for asking you for something as mundane as a serial number/bill is really not the right thing to do; they're just doing their job :)

P.s.: I believe Rashi support in Mumbai still has a lot to be desired, but I sincerely believe we Chennai folks can breathe easy cause I find the service here a lot lot better.

err rashi refused to give replacement my old asus m2n-e (amd) board where my 4 x 3 pin fan connect does not work due to bios issue is bugger code

so only 1 x4 pin for cpu cooler work quietly and crawdad well cause they said u pc is working why u do need extra more fan connect

so i was wtf and i move the board to my native place just for backup ;)

did they return the amount or not ?.

In my case I had a bad experience with delta for the 1st time itself in 2003. i stepped into delta to buy a gfx card after getting cash from my father. I had to undergo hardships to make my father believe that the card is essential for animation purposes.
I was dreaming a lot about the new gfx card which i was going to buy.

My idea was to get a geforce fx5200 which is a dx 9 card. Unfortunately at that time i dint have idea about directx. Just i know about fx series, geforce 4, 3 , 2, etc thats all.

When i asked the delta fat guy for the xfx fx5200 which costed about 3.7k, he suggested a radeon 9200se which rated @ 4.3k and adviced me that it would outperform the fx5200 .

Having faith in the dealer's words i bought the gigabyte radeon 9200se unknowingly that its a dx8 card. Only after 2 months when i was chatting with a person about the farcry game, i came to know that it is a dx8 card. The reason is in far cry the water effects are not that realistic and when i discussed about this during chatting i felt i was cheated.

Though i was doutful whether i wud get an exchange, i immediately took the card to the delta idiot and asked for an exchange. He denied inspite of serious arguments. I was repeatedly telling him, that he is the one who who made me buy this card which is dx8 only and where the price is also high, but this fat guy dint listen to my words.

With much dissapointment i returned from delta and decided to forget about this shop and not to buy anything from them in my lifetime... After that i sold that card to RC automation for 2.7k ( the price became 3.7k at the time of sale). So in about 2 months i lost 2k because of this ignorant delta...

So this is sheer negligence on the part of the dealer since he hasnt disclosed the full specs. of the card..

But nowadays i doubt such a thing would happen since most of us are aware of all these.
Anyway buyers beware.

Hehe... your case is still not bad as me.. he gave me a bill which had different serial no what was on the card(Box was open and I didn't match the serial no on the card with the bill, though serial no on the box and bill were same) trusted him and accepted open box :( . after 1 year it went kaput and I couldn't get replacement. he also denied and blamed me that I'm trying to get someone else's card replaced. 11k lost just like that.

OMG.

Are you talking about delta periferals in chennai ?.

You shouldnt have accepted that card. You were very wise to identify that the card bears an irrelevant serial no. and I dunno how you accepted an expesive card . How did you spare that culprit mate ?.

Atleast you could have asked a bill containing the serial number on the card . IMO you should have taken him to the consumer court and claimed heavy damages.

Which brand is that card mate ?. Atleast did you take the card to the respective service centre ?. I think most of the service centres will not demand bill copy provided the card's warranty sticker is not tampered...

I am sure that this is not negligence on their part, but they have deliberately cheated you.

One final word to all those who praise delta peripherals :

Have an idea about the product and price of whatever you buy here

The thing is it looked brand new, only seal wasn't there, I matched the serial no on the box with bill, didn't expect that card 'll have different serial no. Even I came to know about this thing after 1 year when card went kaput and I took it to tirupati service center for replacement. their they matched the serial nos. and when they said that serial nos. are not matching, I was shocked... they also told that card with this serial no wasn't from them at all (distributor).. after that I talked to delta guys they asked me to send the card to them..after that what happened is in the previous post.

When i bought my Abit ip35-E their was no seal when asked about the sealed box Mr kamal said "lot of customers will ask to see the board so i am forced to show it to them" me too trusted him and accepted the piece infact their were like 3-4 pieces on display none of them was sealed so played inky pinky ponky and took one home. When i was taking the delivery they took the mobo out and scanned the SR no for the bill how come they missed yours:huh::no:.

Yes me too thinks he should not have accepted the card:@.Yes absolutely true this is very very important one should have a basic idea of the product
this is where techenclave community is Priceless.Even if i am sure about something i will never make any moves without getting the green light here from the community:hap5:.This is the first pc i assembled before this i do not even know what a motherboard is:rofl:If an accounting student can do this much their is no excuse for others

^^^ sometimes trusting others pays off this way.. :) , can't say anything, anyway now surviving on a used 8600gt for the time being. I don't remember if they scanned or not. I just got the bill and matched it with the box's no. didn't match it with the card(I expect that card and the box should have same no. :P).

IMO, the existence of ulterior motive to cheat you is very clear . They have got that card from somewhere ( may be singapore or malaysia) which doesnt have local warranty . Surely they wouldnt have scanned the serial number of card for this reason...

Anyway mate, your experience has taught us the importance of matching the box serial no. with the card no.

PPL, stay away from delta as far as possible.
