Denon 2308 vs Harman Kardon AVR 354

Am upgrading my AVR from the existing Marantz to a Receiver with HDMI upscaling

Am considering the following two models

Ideally, I would have liked to set them up in my house first and audition them with my setup
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem possible since the HK and Denon dealers are different

Auditioning them separately with different speakers and different locations won't tell much of a story
Here are the options I am considering
Any pointers?

Ask them for a home demo and then make a call. The denon looks better on paper but I've come to believe paper specs don't mean much.
 
Precisely, paper specs and review mean very little

The Denon guy seems fine witha home demo as they do have a demo piece, the HK dealer seems iffy about the whole thing though

In theory, both the receivers are very similar though

Worst case, I'll take the call on what I can get a better discount on

The S-Zone RSM for PFX is the college junior of an acquaintance of mine and I have helped him in the past to setup a corporate sale plan

The list price for the HK 354 is 37K + taxes in India and PFX is not yet an official HK dealer

and coming back to the topic, the HK 357 is what I am most likely getting
