Desertcart.in pro account Orders

Long Story Short:

I tried to use the Desertcart Pro membership trial to order something, but ended up buying from "Desertcart.in" instead of the global domain.
The .in domain/checkout (Desertcart India) no longer offers a trial—only a full paid subscription (source: support).

I considered selling the account to recover the cost, but didn’t want to risk my address or phone number being shared.
So, I’ve decided to use the account to place orders for others, charging a fixed fee per order.
Since Desertcart allows only one Pro account per household (as per their policy), there may be account-related issues eventually, but I’m willing to test the waters for now.

Things to note:

I’m placing orders for others at a flat premium of ₹499 over the final product cost per order.
Sometimes I get discounts; sometimes I don’t. Deals seem inconsistent on Desertcart. I try my best to find and use any discounts I come across, but it is what it is.
Regardless, shipping and customs are handled by Desertcart directly, unless they incur serious issues. In which case, they may require your input.

Keeping a few things in mind, I have decided to do the following for now:
-->Max 3 orders per week
-->Max order value: ₹10,000
-->No risky or prohibited products
-->No warranty, replacements, or returns handling by me
-->Tracking is visible only in the Desertcart account, and their UI isn’t very intuitive. I will share any major changes happening to the order from time to time till your tracking ID arrives.
-->I will share the tracking ID once it’s handed over to an Indian courier (usually Delhivery).
-->Full product cost is taken upfront. You can pay the ₹499 extra cost once the item ships from the origin country (I’ll notify you).
-->I am not liable for product quality, shipping damage, or customs seizure. I am only a facilitator.
-->If customs indefinitely delays or seizes an item, I cannot promise any refund unless Desertcart provides it.
-->Only dealing with buyers who have at least 50+ positive feedback in the marketplace. I’ve had quite a few unpleasant experiences in the past. I’d rather preserve my sanity than deal with unnecessary chaos.
-->I will still try to clear the backlog of people who approached me before this post went live.
-->I won't respond to people who spam my DM without reading things properly
-->Minors are not allowed

FAQ:
Q) How would I make sure you will not run away with the money?
A) By not giving me any in the first place. If you have even a percentage of doubt, please don't proceed.

Q) I need my product to ship quicker. Is it possible?
A) One of my orders was initially scheduled to arrive this week, but the date was pushed back by a month.
If you need something urgently, don't look at Desertcart. Desertcart’s delivery timelines are inconsistent and can vary drastically.
They are fully responsible for shipping, delays, and customs. I have no control over timelines once an order is placed.

Q) Will custom cause issues?
A) My portable monitor has been stuck at customs for over a week.
Support told me the delay was on the customs side, and they’re trying to resolve it.
Desertcart handles customs clearance, but that doesn’t guarantee smooth sailing.

Q) Can I cancel after placing an order?
A) Buy only if you're 100% sure. I will not be responsible if Desertcart decides not to refund you a dime.
IIRC, after a product is shipped, there are no refunds.

Q) What happens if you get stuck with a failed or cancelled order?
A) Orders are non-refundable unless Desertcart refunds them themselves.
If they do, I’ll return the amount minus any fees or deductions that they charged.

This is not a business. I’m just helping out fellow members and recouping some of my cost with my Desertcart Pro membership.
Please read everything before messaging.

For further inquiries, DM. Keep the thread clean.

I will add things as they unfold.

₹7118.10(product cost after pro discount) + ₹499(the charges I am taking) = ₹7617.1(Total cost for you to get it delivered to your address)

Oh didn't know there was a pro discount. Good to know. Let me se if I want to order something I DON'T need.
Their discounts are a little weird.
I got a 30% discount on MGIFT for my monitor, but got 3%-5% next time I used the same coupon. It's stupid.

Good catch @biscuit
Applied the coupon to the tablet.

The question is, is this a one-time per account?
I got something after the first few orders, I believe.
It gave me a FLAT 30% on a product and then never worked again.

Update:
It seems it can be used a few times before it stops working completely for that account.

Isn't 500 a little too steep? I mean the pro membership is 5k for a year. With just 10 orders you will recover the cost, 10 orders aren't even that high.

My suggestion is to lower the price a little. It won't take much time for someone else to buy the membership and offer the same service for half the price if orders start rolling in.

-->I am not the seller of the final products. Even if I do not get a single order, I am perfectly fine with it. The extra cost has an additional utility to weed out causal and lazy people who don't bother to read anything. I will not take any kind of risk for them.

That's fine by me. I have seen people who will even do that for free for some people. I didn't find any when I place my order but I hope you guys do.

Yeah, eventually we'll see people helping others out for a small charge and not make a profit out of it.

is the site trustworthy?
Yes, the site is fine but they tend to cancel orders for items listed on the website based on their reasons, without communicating the same. Also customs clearance can be unpredictable, especially for high value items.
Lead the way Tiger.
May be make it a percentage of the final order amount. Considering the order value cap, 499 can become a significant overhead.

But if they advertise as "duties and taxes incl" then why should we be bothering about customs?

From the clearance perspective. At the end of the day, if some item’s valuation is too high, I doubt they will pay extra to clear that item. Then there is their ability to confiscate items and cause an indefinite delay.

It was ages ago but when I was in college, I had a friend who would sport the latest mobile costing several thousands every year. Turned out his dad was a customs official.

The listed cost of item is usually higher than the actual price and includes a component of customs. I actually had the opportunity to import a couple of high value items (> 25k) using the one month trial they had ongoing sometime back. I was not charged anything extra.
The only problem is that their shipping tracking is poor. I had an item delivered and even 2 weeks later it showed as stuck in their Dubai warehouse.
