Laptops Desktop replacement...for 1L

Hey i want to buy a new laptop...a good one max budjet 1 lakh.....please help me.....i want a one with less weight.....and which is quite powerfull..........and good looking...
 
plus one for macbook pro!! but in ur budget it might be a lil difficult to get in india.. maybe from us would be good deal ..

an as for asus lamborghini... last i heard it was priced at an illogical 2.4 petti (lac) .. hehehe
 
go for a Dell Vostro 17" with a very high configuration, it may not fit exactly in ur budget.. but it wud be VFM and the closest u wud come to getting a desktop replacement at tht kind of price ;)

In temrs of power (for normal computing purposes) Any decent notebook is the equal of most Desktops.

The second suggestion is a good option, mobility mixed with a larger (even dual screen)

Whichever way you go, rememeber after sale service is the most important thing in a lappy, you can't open it up and tinker around it like you do with your desktop.

In aftersale keep this in mind, do you want to lug your machine to the service center, and then collect is back a couple of days later, or would you rather you sat on your back side and let the engineer and parts come to you.

Also as I have mentioned before - if 1L is your budget, why not have a holiday while buying your notebook, all in the same cost. The cost diffrential between the same model in India and Malasia will fund a holiday easily for 1, and a budget holiday for 2.

@tracerbullet - how many months warranty does that apple come with/ and what kind of warranty onsite/carry in? What are the other specs ?
 
:) If you are buying from India the best would be probably be a dell xps...

2 reasons :

1. Customisable.

2.Get a dell employee or maybe send a pm to Raghu(forum member who can get you discounts in dell)..

For a laptop in the range of 70k you would get approx 15k discount and in the range of 1.3 lakhs a massive 30k discount.
These are approximations but I know of 2 guys who have used the employee scheme and have got approx the discounts I mention at the price I mention :):)

p.s If you are finicky about colors you get that too in the new dell xps(4 colors I believe):hap2:
