Hi friends,
We have around 75-80 desktops in our office connected to a 20 KVA APC UPS. This UPS, even though under AMC, constantly gives us problems and we have had several outages during the past few weeks. The APC guys are prompt in their service, but ultimately we are the sufferers with these repeated outages.
Would it make sense to go for 75-80 desktop UPSes - one for each computer? This way, there won't be a single point of failure. Are there any potential disadvantages with this setup? Cost wise, a new 20 KVA UPS and 75-80 desktop UPSes are roughly the same price.
Backup time does not matter as we have a DG which will kick in on power failure.
