After watching this on Saturday night, I had the misfortune of watching Dostana on Sunday

Needless to say, the latter was absolute Emotional atyachar, esp. given the contrast between the way both the movies have been made

The hilarious part is Taran Adarsh has given Dostana a 4 star :O rating while this gets one

Just on the basis of that contrast, I'd have given this a 4.5 but I've been spoilt by the likes of Oye Lucky and Johnny Gaddar
 
The movie was uber cool......with its slapstick and witty comments.....but what made the movie more appealling to me was the music....it is not the usual cliched hindi movie music...but a class apart......the dialogues with music....was what made the movie a much more profound experience.....on the whole i am now a big fan of anurag kashyap and Abhay deol.......i am just waiting for his next movie....GULAAL....coming out in April....
 
Have they beeped / muted out offensive words / phrases in the movie? If yes then that would spoil the whole fun :)

PS: Any clue where i can watch the trailer of Gulal online ?
 
Ubercool movie or a good movie connoisseur. If you love satire, and dark cinema, a watch is recommended. Abhay Deol pulls off another great performance. Music IMO is much better than even Slumdog, which I think is overrated. (I even liked Delhi 6 music more than Slumdog, which I think is more of Indianized hip hop and pop.)

The movie brought a smile on my face after it ended, and not many movies do that to me. Have been listening to the melodies ever since.

Go watch it !

watched it today.

i really loved it. great movie by anurag kashyap. very different and offbeat film, not like other crap coming out. abhay deol acted very well in the movie. enjoyed it. :D

i have seen that x-rated emosional atyachar version before. totally awesome!! :rofl:

oh yes, forgot, the music was just awesome. thats what made the movie even better.

BodhiTree is name of the XLRI band. The new batch may not be talented enough to produce something like GMD ;)
 
Nice movie, Paroh's character was stupid to be frank..There was no apparant reason for abhay deol to be madly in love with her..She acted randomly, doing stupid things, for gods sake one moment she despises him, and second moment, she's washing his clothes..wtf?



Linea's(chanda) role was awesome, very very nice character..couldnt have done better acting..The way she flirts with abhay was an awesome development for her character, It was her character that made the film a success..

Abhay's acting was okie, But his character was on a high almost all the time..:rofl:

Lastly, the second half was a drag and too much low light action..was almost dizzy after the movie..lol

Finally, the movie was not even losely inspired from devdas, only the names were copied..There's a lot of depth in the movie if one cares to watch it seriously..Also the ending, though good, wasnt satisfying and moving enough, expected a much better ending after the awesome buildup..

the idea isnt to just get some gallis in without any sense. the way they put in profanities which really blends in the song/situation is what makes it soo cool. :D
 
Back from watching it just now. As many have mentioned before this movie leaves you feeling good after its over though its not for everyone. I liked the change of pace in the movie in the romantic parts and didn't mind the slow ending as slicker editing might have made it to be less "feelgood".

Did feel pretty uncomfortable about the part of Dev getting off practically scot free after mowing down a bunch of people with his car but I guess that is part of the movie's subtext about the uber-rich. Also I feel it would have been better if the movie ended after the car crashes next to him as he stoops to pick up the coins as he really didn't deserve a total happy ending.

Think that is Sanjeev Nanda BMW case though he has been convicted but the judgement is still pending even after 10 years.
