2. The game has story mimicking the 'Cell Processor' in the Ps3. Otakon's robot that tracks Snake in the trailer, is powered and functioned by 'Cell'.
That is one ridiculous theory. They could just as well call it Dell or Intel and port it to the PC, heh.

Why bring up MGS4 in a thread about DMC4?

Was quoting m47r1m.

1 Worst case scenario : if they can't put it on a single DVD 9 why can't they use two? MGS series has never been about seamless gameplay (ala Half life etc) It moves from area to area. As an example imagine the virtous mission of Snake eater in one DVD and the rest of the game in the second. Would that make any differance? Would you not buy the game if that happened. Of course not.

Except, I'm not trying to fight the established logics here, I'm simply going with the creator of the game.

"Blu-Ray is too small for MGS4" Kojima wants 50 GB Blu-Ray - NexGen Wars

Both MGS2 and MGS3 were re-released on 2 DVD sets later with extra content, and MGS4 is Snake's last game, he wants to make this one an epic.

It'll not be much of a problem if it would've been a 25gig, he could compress it for X360 and release it on 2 Disks. But 50, its a lot, this has happened beofre with Gamecube, where I own MGS Twin Snakes, a 2 disk set with half of the game in one and the 2nd half in the other.

Nothing I've said above reflects my opinion, I'm just basing myself of a supposed stated fact from Kojima.

It's unbelievable that people believe that MGS4 isn't possible on the X360.

A backup where I've said it isn't possible would be appropriate.

We all know X360 and Ps3 are on a level, where PS3 surpassed X360 in some places and X360 surpassed Ps3 in some places.

MGS2 went to Xbox and failed, there are chances he will do it again with MGS4 and X360, the time and money going into PS3, and given the PS3' installbase, may not turn up the profits, but I'm pretty sure if it will come to X360, it won't be before 6-12 months after PS3's launch.

Right now, he's focusing only on PS3 and how he should fill up those 50gigs, apparently.

Yeah I though that :P

Just that it striked me when in the trailer Otakon mentioned his robot runs on a Cell Processor, the thing which the Ps3 runs on, is being created solely to take advantages of Cell on the Ps3 and may not translate that easily if a port were to be made for the X360

Err params, CGI videos would take up a lot of space. MGS generally uses engine cutscenes which doesn't require anything else than the art assets already present in the game. So unless kojima is duplicating data for redundancy and faster access times (due to the 2x drive) and putting mgs in all languages including swahili only then a blu-ray disc will be filled up. Other than that mgs4 could be a timed exclusive and might be ported to the x360 later.

I can agree with that.

Okay, you didn't say it would be impossible, just difficult which I think not. I agree with the timed exclusivity though. Also, MGS2 Substance was just MGS2 repacked and sold on the Xbox. A game most people already played on the PS2.

The news has really hit Sony fans hard. There's already a petition to stop DMC4 from hitting the X360 or sony fans pledge to forever boycott Capcom.

Capcom - Signatures

To: Capcom

We (The people that have signed this petition) feel very left out in your decision to make Devil May Cry 4 a Multi-Platform title, and hereby agree to boycott your sale of Capcom affiliated games. This is due to your decision to turn your back on your most faithful gaming company. For years we have enjoyed games, we have reaped the benefits of your committment to Sony. We find it absolutely demoralizing for not only the gamers, but also Sony itself. We want you to know that will not, and should not stand for your actions, and therefore withold our option of buying your product.

Sincerely,

Rats are the first to abandon a sinking ship.First it was the smaller game titles that went to the xbox camp. Now the biggies have have started following suit.

Haha. Capcom actually took the time responding to that petition.

We are certainly moved that people are so passionate about our products that they would go to such extremes. At the same time we feel that allowing more people access to our content pleases far more people than it displeases (after all, we're not denying DMC 4 to anyone that was already going to get it). It really is the best decision for the company and for consumers.
