We were lucky enough to get our hands on two samples, one of them being DFI’s LanParty UT CFX3200. DFI’s boards are always amongst the best performers and top overclockers so we were pretty psyched when we came across this board.

The board is based on the ATi RD580 northbridge and ULI M1575 southbridge. Since NVIDIA acquired ULI we have heard rumors that ULI will stop shipping chips, and that there is possibility that the manufacturers will have to wait for the ATi 600 southbridge. That will probably be a most unpleasant delay for ATi, and because of this the first RD580 boards could appear somewhere around May/June.

Guys here it is... what many of us were waiting.

Review suks man!!! what was the damn need to run so many useless PCMark, Everest tests !!! :@ :@ :@

They may have as well tested the OC reults on tyhe CPU as well... morons tested only the memory!!! Cummon.... Testing a DFi they should know better than to waste time with useless tests :P

Nice find Harshal, but damn those it-review morons.....

yeah.... you do have a point.... maybe the board did not have mem dividers and since they could not take the RAM to more than 218MHz, they decided not to try to oc the CPU.....

Of course, this is all IFs and BUTS :P

The review or rather preview sucks alright, even I could have done a better job :P read = Oc'ing on the board ;)..

Layout is very very spacious, CF slots are well spaced ostensibly to allow 2 x X1900XT's..

I'm waiting for Anandtech to review this board, that gonna rock alright..:)

sh1*** preview but link is appreciated... 1 thing the new ATI SB should be more promising the 1575 should die out of the ATI range soon anyway....

Infact ATI is having a crossfire event here in Mumbai and one of the guys from our office is attending.... Lets see what crops up...

The board looks good though..;) less space between card and memory modules though.. not good for guys like me who swap memory a bit... consideirng that I use 4 dimm's with tccd and 2 dimms uccc this would be a pain for me... :P

yes the word is that ULI 1575 is out as NVIDIA has completed the takeover. SB600 is to be out by May.. lets see how things work out. Limited boards for sure till then.

C'mon ! WTF is wrong with DFI :S

Except for Xtremely rich blokes on XS/VR, etc. who the hell is going to buy a "high-end enthusiast" 939 board in June ??

^ What does it have to do with DFI ? Its ATI who are at fault for bringing out the southbridge only by June. The article says DFI will push for an earlier launch date though inspite of that.

And the only reason they would've skipped OC'ing is because the board wasnt ready for it. As mentioned the BIOS was severely limited with a max HTT of just 265Mhz, CAS latency was restricted to 1,1.5,2 .. there was no 2.5 and higher options. By OC'ing to 265Mhz, what exactly would they have proved? :bleh: . I guess the whole exercise was just to show that they had a board up and "running".

^^ Hmm.. well agreead Eddy that the board wasn't ready.

But for the time factor, the ASUS A8R32-MVP is up running, and people are benching it with FX-60 running at 3.5 Ghz with X1900XT's in CF, that obviously proves the board is stable.

Hence is still feel that DFI can do a better job by getting the board out earlier.

I think the whole launch issue related to DFI hovers around the Sounthbridge of the board.

DFI has burnt its fingers once by launching RDX with ATI SB.It doesnt want to repeat the mistake.

Also the takeover of ULi by Nvidia must have made things much more difficult.

Also this is just my opinion though,Asus is much larger than DFI so may be they can use their muscle power with Nvidia to get the ULi chips for their A8R32 but DFI is not able to do so...just may be...dont come running for my throat ok,i am just imagining...lol

You have a point..... I think I can agree with you :P They cannot be pushed around by nvidia. As Asus are among the top sellers of nforce based mobos. DFI is bought mainly by enthusiasts and hardcore experts..... noobs buy Asus. And see in India, how mnay 939 PCIe mobos are Asus?? More than 60-70%?? No DFI, small MSI, gigabyte presence....

n00bs buy asus....?? watch your words...:P Actually Asus may be able to muscle out some ULI SB's but don't count on it cause the market don't work that way... And the ATI SB 600 is supposed to promise much pity why these guys can't get it right after building awesome cards (X..... series)....

Asus has rashi marketing for them (at least had initially) and MSI's disti's here are a f****** POS... aske me whatever board u ask for - "sir that'll take some time", "not in stock". At one point I was actually going to purchase a D820 and an MSI 955X mobo only to learn that it wasn't available at the time :@ ... Then crapped the idea..

Actually MSI ships a lot of boards worldwide (the Indian market isn't an indicator at all :P ).. A few more gigabytes and MSI's would see DFI and Asus rates fall as well... ;)

And the ATI SB 600 is supposed to promise much

But that will be seen when its actually launched, isnt it ? till then what do the mobo makers do with only the RD580 Northbridge..lol :P

Couldnt agree more with you man, these guys, mostly Cyberstar i guess are morons, dont have a single high end board in stock and whatever boards they have is priced insanely.I still wonder how come i could buy the MSI Neo2 Plat ??
I mena how the hell was it avlbl.:bleh:

Yeah this is a well known fact that MSI sells decently,so does Gigabyte. But Asus still outsells both.
I wouldnt mind trying MSI boards once in a while,IF they were avlbl here.Gigabyte...well i would rather stay away from them.:P

Well cudnt agree with ya more, just stay away from Gigabyte...... :ohyeah:

Couldn't agree more... Gigabyte sucks other than the fact that they bundle everything including the kitchen sink with their enthusiast motherboards :P. Also asus potentially sells more than Gigabyte+MSI+DFI combined.
