Hi Everyone,

I m new to techenclave. I need help on below configuration

CPU : E6300
Mobo : DG965WH
RAM : Trancend JetRAM 1Gb 533Mhz DDR2.
Cabi : VIP. Powersafe SMPS 400Watt.

I bought the above configuration yesterday. I've two questions

1> Is my RAM comapatible to the above mobo. Although the specs match, the Intel website does not list any Trancend module Tested. Is Kingston DDR2 533 a better Ram? I have a option to change it with Kingston.

2> Intel says that max power consumed by 965WH is 532watts while min is 43watts. The max current is 16Amps for 12Volt CPU supply.
My SMPS caters to max 13Amps supply @12 Volts (12V2).
Do I need to upgrade my SMPS to 500W? I do not have any graphic card installed.

Help me guys. Thanks in advance.

Dams.

I plan to make it 1Gb x2 latter in Jan07 when Vista is launched.
Also can u explain me the below satement made by Intel on all the 965 mobos

"Double-side DIMM with x16 oranisation are not supported."

What excatly is x16 organisation?

Thanks & Regards,

I doubtr whether 400W will be sufficient, specially if you plan to add more HDDs and Graphics Card later on. Better to go for 500W + of Power Supply.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go for 500Watt. It will push my budget by Rs.1300/- I don't know about price for 600Watts. Lets see.

BTW I got confirmation from Trancend. The Trancend Jet RAM 1Gb DDR2 533 will work with DG965WH.

yea like 8x16 chips ( 128MB ) , there will be 8 chips with 16MB in each of them so totally 128MB :)

Hi, Guys thanks for all the help. My Rig is up and running. :D

Pl. help me on one last issue. The Mobo monitoring utility by Intel shows CPU temperature as -25 deg C while all other temperatures are approx 50 deg C.

I m a bit stumped with this figure -25. Any idea why the -ve figure will be displayed?
