Found a nice tool which compares the cost of Diesel car vs Petrol car.

i dont know why people are not considering the resale value while doing this kind of calculation if i pay 1L more for diesel car and if i sell it after 2 years, i will definitely get more value(1L more) than a selling petrol car! for eg, swift vxi 2007 model if i sell it, it will fetch me 2.3L approx. but if i sell swift vdi, then defintely it will fetch 3.3L. So initial extra investment for diesel car should not considered for these kind of calculation!

moreover, the compensation of that extra 1 LAC will not take much of a time coz petrol prices are still rising..

yea, good one, specially the break even time has reduced considerably, due to soaring fuel prices.
