Hey guys,

I`m buying an iPod video 30GB soon, i`ve seen the Ipod video 4th gen, i found it a lil' bulky, So, is there any (Physical)changes/diffrences in the 5th gen ipod?

yes lots of differences:

4th gen is bulkier, fatter, has smaller screen

5th gen is slimmer, lighter, has video playback, bigger and better screen

The 4th gen was NOT an iPod video. It had a color screen and supported still images/album and was known as the iPod Photo.

Only the 5th gen is the iPod video. As everyone mentioned, its much slimmer with an improved screen geared towards video playback.

Opps, i`m wrong,

Diffrence b/w ipod video 5th gen and 5.5 gen :P

Same except for the 80 GB version, more storage...
Also the screens the same dimensions, only brighter...I reviewed one of those recently...
I think there's a 40 GB version also, not sure :ashamed: if its 30 GB only i.e. unchanged from earlier...I had got the 80 gig version.

Battery life's gone up as well...I got around 3-4 hours more on MP3 playback.

Plus there's been some minor menu changes. Searching happens on first alphabet basis also...minor stuff.

Better battery life, gapless playback. The so-called brighter screen isn't much different from the older one. Also you can search for a song but that's a gimmick and has no real use.But the new ipod has a 80 gb hard drive so more storage.

I believe the new ipods are less prone to scratches.
