Social news site Digg was acquired by Betaworks just two weeks back and now Digg has gone live after redesign .
Digg was showed off 2 days back in its V1 preview which was the result of fast 6 week redesign process and now it has gone live with the updated design . Some features have been left to simplify the design which emphasizes on top stories , popular stories and upcoming stories . Now the ranking of stories will also take sharing from FB and Twitter into account . The front page will be editorically driven instead of entirely based on Digg score algorithm .
However , due to the rapid design , some features have been left aside including comments , which Betaworks plans to be adding later after conducting "few experiments" . Some new features are also planned like "network-based personalization," mobile versions, and even an API for developers to build on top of the platform.
An iOS app for Digg is also launched which supports offline reading and automatic updating feature based on location called "Paperboy".
