Digicam:12-13k Budget

I am planning to buy a digicam asap.my budget is around 12-13k.it will be for normal use.dont want a bulky,big,thick camera instead need a slim,easy to carry sort of.almost bought sony as sony world is close to my place at the same time other brands are not easily available and if they are then mostly grey market but then thought reading more here in TE before buying and found that sony aint good,so need suggestions.

I think a Canon IXUS 80 (SD1100) would go well for you needs, its fully auto, has 4x zoom, IS. Cost somewhere near 9900 at croma the last time I checked.
 
Check out the Canon PowerShot SD870 / IXUS 860 with a nice wide angle 28mm lens, should be around your budget if you're OK with buying from grey
 
The Panasonic Lumix TZ5 is very highly rated by satisfied consumers. Maybe you can consider it. The Canon A720IS is a nice compact camera. If you want an ultra compact, you can consider the IXUS series.

The Canon A6xx series offer added protection of a flip twist LCD that can be folded in when not in use.

Dude his budget is 13k max ! And your suggesting something over 16k !? In the grey market you probably get it for 14k...

Consider the Canon SD 870(Grey mrkt),SD1100,A720/A1000 & Panasonic TZ11(Grey mrkt) ..
 
friends thanks so much for your input's.but as i said nothing except sony and nikon available here.so dont have any other choice then these 2 :S .went to see few liked couple of nikon model's dint like sony at all as it seems its just for show off nothing else.
do suggest me few models nikon or sony.

anyways have already bought Nikon S51c (Grey) for 11.3k including 2 gb card.

Dint have much option,it was just few nikon and sony.never wanted to buy a sony cam so got this one.does anyone has any idea how is the performance of this cam?how good it is?will upload few pictures soon.:)
 
You've already bought it. Now for peace of mind, please do not go asking for feedback about the cam that you already bought :)

Enjoy your cam and rate it how good it is yourself based on your usage. Nobody is a better judge of any product than the end user
 
Its a decent cam actually since it has got optical image stabilization. Beyond IS, there will be marginal image quality improvements in point and shoot cameras.
 
Built in Wifi sounds good, but dunno its practical usage.. It'll probably help in uploading pics directly to your flickr or picasa albums, right..??
