In the 10-12k range.

Does such a thing even exist?

If yes then please recommend.

Will be used mainly for watching movies and some games too. Used primarily on Vista 64, currently with Audigy.

I'll be changing to Xonar. Still have to decide between DX and D2X.

For the Audigy, the SPDIF is detected and everything, but of course not sure if it works.

Are the Creative 5.1 D still available? How were they?

I'm curious why you need digital speakers. You are aware that with a good soundcard ( which you're getting anyway) , there really is not much difference with their analog equivalents, right ?

budget ? I'm sure you can get hold of something better. 'Digital' is a nice feature which sounds impressive , but does not improve sound by itself. Its something you do only when your equipment is best connected that way

digital and analog are different technologies dude. its like comparing VGA and DVI. a lot of factors come into play.

If the speaker DAC's are better( if you're using the SPDIF out on a motherboard and an HT Reciever) , then Digital

If the card DAC's are better( if you're using a high end card and multimedia speakers) , then analog.

Still, dont think there will be a significant difference or rather , the difference will be in the quality of the DAC's :)
