:) :) Hey folks my friend wants a digital still camera in the range 12k to 15k.

Please suggest the good models available. I am based in Bangalore so if u can mention the shops in Bangalore too it will be good.

:) :) Hey guys more help needed...the A620 seems to be a fabulous camera...What will be its price in India? Can you tell me shops in Bangalore that sells digital cameras?Thanks:)
 
I bought the A620 for my dad for ~21,000 with bill and warranty. You can get it in the grey market for 14-15K. Canon is now bundling a 256mb SD card and rechargeable batteries+charger with this model.
 
:) :) Dear sadism...when did u buy it? and anyone else how much diff would it make if I buy a A610 or A5** series from cannon both price wise and quality wise....how are kodak cameras....also anything in the 15k range in Nikon or Olympus?:)
 
A friend just bought the Nikon L1 today..

Good Cam.. 6.2Mp 5x Opti.. 10x Digi.. 32mb onboard mem..

Got it for 11700/- for Cam \ Case and a free 1gb card !! :)

I prefer the Sony P200, its much older but performs better with less than ambient lighting. Otherwise output is more or less the same as compared to the W5, maybe even sneaks ahead. And costs around 11K grey market :)

Bought it around a month ago. The A5*** series costs significantly less - less than 15K IIRC. Quality wise, I dare say the 620 is one of the best cameras in this category. It has tons of manual controls if you want to fool around, plus it has a swivel screen unlike the 5** series. Check this out - http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona620/

:) Is the canon SD450(Ixus 50) available in India?if so what will be its approx price? How good are HP cameras? It seems my friend has someone working in HP...she might get discounts...
