Hii,i am planning to get a digicam frm US,one of my frnd coming to india widin a month,went through newegg and saw some real gud camera's

I liked da most:- Newegg.com - Canon PowerShot SD1000 Black 7.1 MP Digital Camera 1/2.5" CCD 2.5" 230K LCD 3X Optical Zoom 4X Digital Zoom

what do u guyz think bout this camera/model??

My budget is arnd 200$ not more then tht,if can get something for lesser amount then it will b great!!if not this one then do temme bout sum other option in tht price range,i cant exceed my budget more then tht!!

it will be for personal/normal use!!

All suggestions r welcome!!

The SD1000 is a great cam no doubt. I'm not sure if you could extend your budget a bit and consider the Canon S5IS if your a little more into photography otherwise I'm pretty much sure the SD1000 won't disappoint you :)
 
Ok. Tell me what is your criteria

A) Image Quality (IQ)

B) Flimsy Functions (Image stabilization)

If you opt for option (A) then your route is to get

1) Fuji S6000fd

2) Fuji F31fd (pocketable cam)

If you opt for option (B) there are so many cameras around.

1)S3is

2)many panasonics(noise machine)

If you shoot in moderate light set up like indoor shots u must get hold of (A).

Just compare these cameras how noisy as the iso level shoots up

oh .. for your price range best quality performance F31fd will fit 1 month back it was sold for ~$190 ish. but the price have been sky rocketing for that cam due to heavy demand. If you can increase your budget by $75 i think u can get S6000fd

I cant increase my budget not even a single penny!!as i m getting few other things as well and they r also important,soo max to max is 200$ datsy!!

criteria :- B) Flimsy Functions (Image stabilization) and shud b small/slim ,dun want a bulky cam!!

when it comes to photography i m lil amatuer,so want a simple yet powerful cam,which can take decent snap,dun want vry hifi types but then picture quality shud b decent enuf,at da same time it shud b simple to use!!

hhmm thanks for da models u suggested but then i need to know de name of de brand juz wid de model its not possible for me to know as i dun hav much idea bout camera's :ashamed: sorry for de trouble!1

Camera noise??i dint get tht?hhmm i dont think tht will b a problm even if sum camera make more noise,tht hardly matter isnt it?

guys u can then do gemme da link of da model u suggest so it will b easier for to decide!!

ill go with da came which u gonna suggest,as i said b4 i kno nothin bout this digicam thingy!!

LOL. camera doesnt make any audible noise. What i was referring was noise contain in the image a.k.a digital noise in the photos. when you click on the photos in the site it will load 100% view mind it will take couple of minutes to load (5 MB per pic like) watch for the shadows and highlights, low-contrast detail and noise reduction artifacts, corner to corner sharpness, color bleeding, chroma noise, over sharpening ..:hap2: heehee am i going too deep:ohyeah:

i m giving few links plz check and temme which camera is gud,and do me a favour temme which is No.1 ,No.2 , & No.3 so in case any model/camera not available i can go for de 2nd or 3rd option!!

As i said b4 my budget is 200$ MAX (lesser wud b gr8) !!

I m not a professional soo looking for a normal cam,which shud b sleek and slim(easy to carry) ,its juz for normal use so if u find a gud 5Mp cam which is not far behind doz 200$ wala cam but available for 150$ then i wud prefer tht one!!

by the way for digicam which is the best company? like no.1 brand...2nd..3rd etc?

^ I would personally not pick Casio, their cams are great, but I'm not too sure about service in India.

Sony will give you best service in India followed by Canon, so take your pick, both the W55 and SD1000 are good cams, pick the one your prefer ;)
 
Thanks a lot Anish,hhmm lil disappointed as i liked casio models,nywaz its f9 will go for either Sony W55 or canon SD1000!! will try to find out if there is any other better deal available,and if i find then will come bak wid de link :ashamed: ,i have to tell her by 2morow!!

canon SD1000 would be good i guess. As anish said earlier, casio's service in india is almost non existent..so i'd prefer SD1000. my second choice would be Casio EX-S770SLV as its a wide angle cam + rechargeable lithium-ion battery+ high quality mpeg4 video recordings.
 
I think canon powershot A570 IS is a better than sony after the the reviews of various camera models at Digital Cameras - Over 500 digital cameras reviews!

After reading the reviews and comparing the features of various model I have decided to but this model. The cost is around $200 in US, but it is 13999 here according the canon website. I think the actual street price is lower than this MRP. I have contacted a dealer from chennai listed in canon's website and the guy says that the price is 13999. I think I can get it for around 11k after checking some prices of this camera at ebay.in

Do, anybody know the price of PowerShot A 570 IS at chennai? Anybody have experience with this model? What about the after sale service of canon here?
