Microsoft has unveiled a new version of DirectX, known as the 11.2, is updating the version of its existing graphics technology which introduces "a host of new features to improve performance" in games and graphics apps.
The new DirectX 11 is supposed to allow video cards to use system ram to improve detailing in the textures using one of the new features which is called 'tiled resources'. Tiles resources also allows textures to not appear blurred or fuzzy when viewed close up. You can hear all the technical stuff below in the video.
Microsoft pulled a similar stunt in the past, by limitting the DirectX 10 to the Windows Vista, which released back in 2007.
