Discuss: On a basic level, it seems like the Chinese are better organized than us

I'm basing this off of interactions with the sellers on Aliexpress and this video that gives a glimpse at the local markets there. Now, I'm not hating on them or saying that we suck but you just can't deny how better organized they are. The equivalent market in India would be much more messy and harder to deal with. The Chinese online sellers respond much faster and so far were very helpful. On a very basic level, they're relatively on track to success.

Given how we're competing with them and the current trade blocks for us consumers, is there much hope that our local stuff would get as good?

Yes of course. There is no denying this. I have personally been to some of the Chinese cities on a 'business' holiday. Bottom line was that Chinese wholesalers were willing to ship anything I wanted to India, and if I committed to a certain minimum order value, they were willing to throw in huge discounts. What I managed to understand is that these 'discounts' would be subsidized by the prefecture and/or city instead of the company I was buying from. China actually cares about their local businesses, and there is a (healthy) competition between provinces.

Of course it's also much easier to disappear in China if you do or say the wrong thing. Luckily, India is rapidly catching up in this regard.
