All the rich (ironically 'bhikaris') guys on TE are getting one, all the poor guys (like me) want one.

Will history repeat itself after 2 generations ??

Can't say for now. I would want to check out the 7900 series performance. Then again in games like Oblivion, ut2k7, graw which are purported to be shader heavy the x1900 series will shine. Also after enabling AA Ati cards really shine................

Isnt ur choice gonna be between the 7900 GT and the x1900xl( if they release one, and they should). Im gonna be getting a gfx card in may as well, tho nothing close to either of those two :P Most prolly a 7600 GT. OT : Is the 7600 GT gonna be the next 6600 GT?
 
Well, as blade said, too early to say anything.

Let the 7900 series release. Then we can say whether history has repeated itself :P
 
9800 pro was just a clockspeed bump to 9700 pro which was the best gfx chip to come out ever.
 
u cannot compare the x1900xt to the 9700pro. the 9700pro was the best gfx card to release as aces said.
