disk boot failure!!!!

HI.

my computer is showing a prob... actually people comes to me and copying data by connecting with my hard disk .. then it showed some time prob like my F: was not detectable and i started the computer again it showing the drive but i coundnt open the drive that was showing that u have to format the drive. i many times cleaned my IDe cable and checked my hard disk pins too.. yesterday my wo of the drive was showing the same prob and i formatted those two drive blindly .. and installed the again the windowsxp.
but in morning the computer promptng the messge "please enter boot disk . boot disk failure!!"
plz help me out..

Also check if an optical drive is the first boot device in the BIOS and there is an optical disk in the drive.

OR

check if the second drive without the OS is mentioned in BIOS as first boot device. If you set it correctly and it changes showing the non OS HDD as the first boot drive I would suspect a dead MoBo battery.
 
its really basic to remove floppy disk before installing !!

well now i have formatted whole HDD .. now my computer working fine..

yesterday i connetced another hard disk and showing the same prob "boot disk failure" i checked teh jumper settings and connector too.. i couldnt get wht the prob it has..
 
ritu, in the bios there is a option where you need to specify which hard disk you want to boot from, check if that is set to the hard disk you installed your os on.
if this does not help, post your sys specs & os you are using.
