Laptops Display corruption on my vostro1400..

Ok the display is getting corrupt again and again.
The scree is showing random lines and the display is gettign corrupt with random dots and all, if i move anything then it intensifies..

Happening since 2-3 days..usually when the laptop gets hot..changed the drivers and all too..

when this issue occurs, it cnat even boot into windows 7 right after the microsoft display animation..

Using it in safe mode..still corruption is there..

got a 8400gs card..

call the dell toll free number, get it fixed by them. assuming u in warranty,

Same with my moms laptop, try running SpeedFan to get the temps down. Turned out her fans were all dusty and once I cleaned that, its more or less back to normal.

Yup the problem is related to temps,and once the fans kick in it gets somewhat better..

Yeah in warranty..it seems like a problem with the gpu..

Display chip is on its way out.. a cheap repair job 1000-1500 bucks should take care of it if its not under warranty. No biggie.

I work for dell so if by chance you having a problem and you not under warranty... and if you planning to upgrade the warranty just do that first and then call dell
