Hey guys..
I had given my XFX 6600GT for warranty replacement and they sent me a new piece after more than 2 months. And now when i plugged in the new card there seems to be a problem with color corruption.:(
There seems to be pink color all over the place and some small lines also appear here and there.(check the pic).I tried the newest driver as well as some old ones but still its persistent.I also tried reinstalling the OS.
Is it a problem with the card?? Any idea??

They have given you the same card back.. as even this one is a goner. Stupid ppl might have tried to repair it ;)

do try the onboard graphics to check the colours and also try the card in some other pc before sending it back to the service center

Deifinately something wrong with the card.. I think sending it back again is the best option..

use Driver cleaner pro to uninstall nVIDIA Drivers , restart. use DCPro again.. then install drivers. if this doesnt solve prob, u gotta send back again for RMA or purchase a new card..

Also tell me, are the games running properly without any artifacts ?

No its not the same card. This is a new piece as far as i can tell. The heatsink, fan everything is different...

And i did try with onboard..no problem then..only when i use the card do the pink colours come..

I just tried 2 3 games. No artifacts. But fps dropping in UT2004..Used to be fine before..But now its lower..

I had reinstalled the OS and then installed the drivers fresh..Still the same prob..so its not the driver issue most probably..

Didnt try anything other than UT and CS actually..the only 2 games i play nowadays.Just got the card yday.Didnt get around to installing any new games. Will try it and then decide wat to do.So its most prob card issue rite??

@nVidiaBeast..i also have the same P4 2.8+ 865GBF Combo :)

i think there is problem with overheating. check the temp and post back. if games work, there is nothing wrong with 3D clock. something is wrong with 2D clock..

Hmm, if its heating dunno how games would work but it artifacts @ desktop..

More likely somethin wrong with the 2D clock like u mentioned..

Temperatures are stable..40-50deg..

FPS is definitely low in UT.Goin less than 30 sometimes. And settings change doesnt seem to affect the fps as it stays same even if i lower some gfx settings..

Any way to find out if theres anytin wrong with 2D clock??

Even if in the 2d mode if the clock speed is not throttling down, it should not lead to such artifacting, unless if the fan speed is throttling down but the clock speed remains the same.

BTW try other games especially nfs variants, they tend to stress the card alot..

try oblivion & Flatout 2 too. they are GPU hungry and make sure u have connected external power molex connector to ur GPU. if possible connect another power molex connector (stand alone)

Well i gave it back again...When i tried the card at a friends house total display corruption was there...And almost all games i tried started artifacting..so hardware is corrupted :( ...hope i dont have to wait 2 months to get it back like last time....thanx for ur help guys..

I had similar problem on my card, which deteriorated over a period of time to screen blinking continuously.
Mine is geforce4000.

does nVidia suck that much?
