Display works fine when opened up until 30deg, opening it beyond that leads to flickering and colored lines. External display works fine. This seems to be a ribbon cable issue, but the cable cannot be replaced, it's attached to the display panel. Cost of replacing the display is 53k, which is just absurd. Anyone else having similar issues? I know 2016-17 models had this issue on the backlight cable and apple create a repair program for them. Video of the issue
I think it's the same issue that 2016-2017 model had. This can be repaired because it's a common problem the fix is out there. The flex cable is shorter in length than it needs to be, the solution is to cut the cable and solder another same flex cable which increases the overall length and the problem is gone.
The repair needs to be done by an expert. Since apple don't do repairs and if the replace program doesn't exist for this one, your only option is aftermarket repair.
