Guys, have an issue.. A quite strange one at that. Lemme rewind to about a month ago, when this problem first surfaced. The computer's perfectly okay and then I restart it.. Alas! The display's gone blank..

The monitor LED just kept blinking. Restarted, but to no avail. Monitor was connected to my 9600gso 384mb card. Found that when I would connect the monitor to the motherboard's VGA port, the system would boot just fine and there'd be absolutely no issues with the display. I'd almost decided upon the graphic card being the culprit until i just decided to try out some weird and stupid ways of getting the display to work when connected to the card. I did manage to succeed at that. I found to my surprise that if I tried entering the BIOS (with the Graphics card connected), the display would turn on as soon as the BIOS menu appeared. I could boot into Windows and play games just fine. There was no lag and temps were well within the limits. Thus, it wasn't the graphic card's fault. Henceforth, I began booting into Windows through the BIOS.

Now, about a week ago, the display wouldn't turn on when conected to the card, no matter what I did. The BIOS method failed as well. Currently connected the monitor to the mobo's VGA port. No way of checking which component is faulty here.. I get a feeling that the mobo's PCI express slot has gone kaput. What do you guys think? Is there any hope of getting the system back to normal without having to replace any of the parts?

PS: Sorry for the long post.. And, TIA

Have you tried another gpu on your system? Or you could try your existing gpu on a friend's system. Also do check with your power supply unit, maybe it's not providing enough juice for your card. Thirdly, check your card for any kind of physical damage, takea closer look at the capacitors of gpu, though the solid caps are less likely to fail, there's no harm in taking a closer look. All the best.
