Just today i bought a new modded PS2 console (SCPH-90006). But i am having display problems while playing games on my TV. I have got NFS UG2 and God of War 1 DVD with me. But the display is showing blueish, violet colour for these games. This same happens with original movie DVD i played on the console. My TV is 25" videocon bazooka and in A/V mode it has two options for video (AUTO and NTSC 358). I tried both of them but i am still not able to rectify the display issue. The games were working fine at the store from where i bought the console. That vendor has a samll 7" LCD types screen fitted along with a portable DVD player
Also when i tried 3 pirated movie DVDs (those roadside 5 in 1 types), 2 of them had no problems whatsoever with the colour but one of them was giving the same violet,purple color on the TV. But all original movie DVDs have colour issue. Please help me solve this issue.:(

Maybe the Games are in PAL format and your TV doesn't support it.. As

AUTO and NTSC 358, they didn't mentioned PAL here... Try playing PAL and NTSC games and tell which gives right screen.

The game DVDs are not original ones but the ones bought from road side but the console seems to be the NTSC one. But since there is a mod chip already in place PAL/NTSC for the console wont matter. Also the *not so original DVD* have PAL written on it. But the God Of War DVD has NTSC written on it. But you can never trust a p1rated disc

Furthermore i made a SMS player disc to enable playing of Divx/Xvid/MP3 by Disc swapping and playing them from the USB stick. But the movies that i played from the USB stick or the avi files from the DVD too come with that colour problem. Please tell me where the problem lies .

PS: My PS2 is NTSC as far as i know. Model no is SCPH-90006. On the back it is written as NTSC-J. I suppose it means its Japanese version.

Plz Plz help me in resolving this issue.

1)TRy your PS2 with same game and movie in another 21/25/29 TV

2) Your AV cable may have some problem > try with a different AV cable

I doubt if mod chips of ps2 see ntsc/pal as same thing . My friend has a ps2 and a old TV that doesnt support ntsc so he gets black&white screen with NTSC game dvd's , however PAL works properly . most *ahem* dvd's are ntsc when they say it NTSC on cover :ohyeah:

The problem was with my TV. It was not supporting the signals being sent by the PS2. I got a PS2 compatible NTSC-PAL converter and the problem got solved. I checked games, movies to verify the same :)

Moreover i have successfully run SMS player to read AVI/MP3 media from USB stick and DVDs/CDs. I also tried USB advance but it said i had no games on my USB stick (obviously..since there were none). I will get someone's 4Gb usb or a USB HDD to check if USB Advance works in loading games from it or not. Will update you all on this.

Can i do anything more with my new PS2 ? I know i am being mean but... kya kare "Yeh Dil Maange More.....":D

:clap: A big thanks for all your precious suggestions:clap:

Congo for the purchase.Don't jump on it right now but hold all the trial & error thing for later on.First start enjoying the games.;)

Try Codebreaker to initiate the game cheat process & loading games saves.I tried my best with Codebreaker 10 but it wouldn't boot the DVD properly with the USB stick being the slot, leave alone loading game saves.:(

Will have to try ARmax now.Hope it works.Let us know on the USB games boot up thingy.:)

@Ethan_Hunt

I demanded a God Of War Complementary Game DVD from the Do-Buy Shopkeeper and he obliged. :) Also i bought NFS UG2 for 50 bucks from outside Andheri station(west).

^You should have asked for GOW II as well.;)

Let me know if USB Advance thing works out.I'll try it myself but since I have my friend's 3.5'' HDD the task becomes very tedious.The process for loading games too is a bit weird.See if you can give it a shot.

Ya i will but only on the weekend since i come to Mumbai only on saturdays and sundays. Rest of the days i am in Pune for work where my PS2 is :):)

@Ethan_Hunt

I bought a new 4GB Kingston Pen drive for my friend and used the USB Advance PC Software to copy the NFS UG2 game on the USB stick. The game size was 2.7GB (approx). It got copied and made 3 files (0.99GB,0.99GB and 700MB) on the pen drive. But when i inserted the USB in the PS2 the USB Advance tool did not detect the pen drive. I again reformatted the pen drive and loaded some mp3 and avi files But the SMS player too was not able to detect the USB pen drive. I feel there is a problem with the USB Pen drive and need to get it replaced. I also have a transcend 2Gb one and thats working fine in terms of movie/mp3 on my PS2. But since games are all more than 2GB i cannot load them on the this transcend drive. Next week i will be getting a friend's HDD and will try again.

Will do just keep updating out here.I am myself thinking of getting a 2.5" 80GB HDD for my data transfer.I am not too keen on this HDD thing as it will consume a lot of time.:(
