Hi has33 does the screen go blank and then recovers within a sec this is the problem which i am facing when connected to DVI port but when connected to analog port its working fine

Yup thats exactly what happens in XP n Vista...only in vista it gives a message saying "Display drivers stopped responding n ve recovered" n in XP it just comes back on.

Did U try under clocking Ur GPU, that I mentioned in my previous post ???

That solved it, totally !!! U can always get it back to stock speed, or even higher, 1s the drivers mature.

If U still need to check Ur DVI cables, U can dropin to my inlaws in Santacruz, sometime over the weekend. But I'm sure underclocking for now will solve the issue.

Even the latest drivers (174.74) is having the same problem,ok will try underclocking the card and see

Was busy a bit so had no time to underclock, but did it just now but still facing the the same problem:@.By the way why does this only happen when connected to the DVI port but works fine when connected to analog port

Gave the card back to Tirupathi(Evga distr..) and they said the card is working fine so told them will check again at my place and i found out that the problem recurs when i keep the refresh rate at 60hertz but works fine at 75hertz,by the way the monitor i am using is VG1930wm( 1440 x 900 at 60Hz Optimum Resolution) plz help

I had faced somewhat similar issue and changed the DVI cable hence the issue was sorted out.

Change monitor refresh rate as well, try for 70+ at maximum resolution.

Thanks & regards

One more peculiar thing i noticed when i shut the system(60hertz) and start it again after some time the problem reoccurs, but again set it to 75hertz and back to 60 the problem stops till i shutdown the system

If you are sure that it's a refresh rate issue try this:

If you have an nVidia-based card, you can just edit your registry in this position:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak

Add a new dword called NvCplDisableRefreshRatePage and leave it at 0. That will unlock a section in the nVidia drivers where you can manually override and lock the refresh rate for any resolution.

Found it from some forum :)

You can also try this tool. This tool will unlock all the refresh rates that your monitor can render but which may not have been officially supported. For example I used it to run my 17" LCD Viesonic at 75 hertz even though the official support was for 60 hertz @ 1440X900. However, be cautious while using this tool. :P

Though LCD's do fine at 60 hertz, if you have a peculiar problem with a peculiar solution there is no harm in going for 75 hertz
